The Fund Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in a growing financial services organization, specifically within a dynamic investment management company. This position is designed for an individual who is not only skilled in accounting but also possesses strong leadership qualities. The primary responsibilities include reviewing and finalizing general ledgers for assigned entities, training and mentoring junior fund managers, and maintaining robust relationships with clients through regular calls and meetings. The Fund Accounting Manager will also work closely with clients on investment valuation updates and changes throughout the year, ensuring that all financial reports are prepared in accordance with respective deadlines. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Fund Accounting Manager will review and prepare special reports for assigned entities as required, finalize quarterly capital account statements, and manage the year-end audit process. This role requires collaboration with the management company accountant on budgets and quarterly reports for management company entities. The Fund Accounting Manager will also be responsible for coordinating capital calls to investors and distributing quarterly financial reports to them. Responding to inquiries from investors and investment managers, as well as coordinating tax return preparation and maintaining compliance with Registered Investment Advisor regulations, are also key aspects of this position. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, a CPA or be in the process of obtaining one, and possess at least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a leadership role.
