About the position

The Fund Controller will oversee corporate accounting, SEC reporting, cash management, and the preparation of quarterly board packages for a publicly traded fund. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and managing the accounting operations of the fund, providing a direct path for career advancement to a CFO position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly/quarterly close processes, general ledger reconciliations, and SOX compliance.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AR/AP, cash disbursements, and cash management.
• Assist in SEC reporting, board packages, and compliance with RIC tests.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Management on budgeting, projections, and financial reporting.
• Supervise one senior accountant and maintain cross-departmental relationships.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• At least 2+ years of management experience.
• Current or prior public audit experience (preferred).
• CPA certification is required.
