About the position

The Fund Finance Knowledge Lawyer at Mayer Brown plays a crucial role in supporting the Global Fund Finance team by managing and overseeing the production-level activities and related practice resources. This position involves maintaining a comprehensive portfolio of Fund Finance-related documents, coordinating activities among attorneys and support staff, and implementing advanced legal technologies to enhance service delivery. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with client policies and market standards while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the organization, accessibility, and upkeep of a portfolio of over 300 Fund Finance-related model documents/standard forms.
  • Establish processes to ensure compliance of documents with client policies and market standards.
  • Coordinate Fund Finance matter activities among attorneys and support staff.
  • Oversee a set of 15 predefined tasks for the Fund Finance support team.
  • Implement a feedback system for continual process refinement and performance improvement.
  • Address issues to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables from the Fund Finance production process.
  • Assess the need for and facilitate the adoption of new legal technologies.
  • Become the primary user of new technologies to enhance productivity and service quality.
  • Coordinate with various teams to stay current on legal technology trends.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve Fund Finance matter processes in collaboration with clients.
  • Assist in the annual departmental budgeting process and other administrative functions.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Licensed to practice law in a US jurisdiction.
  • 7+ years of Fund Finance practice experience in a law firm or corporate law department.
  • Experience in Knowledge Management system & operations preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience building teams required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with shifting priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of process and project management principles.
