About the position

The Fundraising and Communications Specialist is a part-time role focused on supporting the LifeHikes Foundation's mission through effective communication, marketing, and fundraising efforts. This position involves collaborating with the Executive Director and team to raise awareness and funds for the organization, while managing various projects and tasks in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with large foundations and individuals who care about our mission.
  • Create email messaging to reach potential partners, donors, and grantors.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning, including logistics, sponsorship development, and volunteer coordination.
  • Work with the Executive Director on grant applications as needed.
  • Lead and collaborate with leadership to identify communication priorities and marketing objectives.
  • Conduct research to develop a strategic social media plan that aligns with the organization's goals.
  • Create engaging, data-driven content for online campaigns across all platforms.
  • Manage and monitor all social media accounts, responding to inquiries and comments.
  • Manage and update website content, collaborating with the website developer for necessary changes.
  • Craft compelling narratives and content across various platforms.

Requirements

  • 3+ years working in an office environment
  • Experience in fundraising/development work or grant writing for a nonprofit
  • Strong experience in CRM software like Salesforce and Microsoft applications
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Canva
  • Experience with WordPress and social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with online databases

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent on-the-job training experience
