About the position

The Fundraising Strategy Consultant will develop a comprehensive 3-year fundraising plan for the Woodlands Partnership of Northwest Massachusetts, focusing on forest conservation and rural community support. This part-time, contract-based role is essential for securing funding to ensure the Partnership's sustainability and autonomy, with a flexible timeline for project completion over 6-8 months starting January 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a 3-year fundraising plan aligned with the Partnership's mission and 10-year Plan.
  • Identify potential funding sources including foundations, donors, and grants.
  • Draft grant proposals for 2-3 strategic priorities to support administrative needs.
  • Assist in establishing organizational infrastructure for accepting grants and donations.
  • Collaborate with state and federal policymakers to create sustainable funding mechanisms.

Requirements

  • College degree or professional certificate in strategic fundraising and philanthropy or equivalent experience in non-profit management.
  • Proven success in grant writing and managing a diverse donor base.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience writing grants and working with state or federal agencies.
  • Experience facilitating Board discussions about funding priorities.
  • Knowledge of the Western Massachusetts landscape and fields such as conservation, rural economic development, and climate change policy.

Benefits

  • $20,000 budget for the project plus $2,000 for travel/expenses.
