About The Position

The Funeral Ambassador at Park Lawn Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting Funeral Directors and staff during the funeral and memorialization process. This part-time position focuses on ensuring that services run smoothly and that the expectations of client families and their guests are exceeded. The Ambassador is responsible for greeting and directing families, assisting with memorialization materials, and maintaining cleanliness in public spaces, all while representing the business in a professional and compassionate manner.

Requirements

• Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• At least 1-year experience in funeral arranging preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; bilingual is a plus.
• Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market share through personal community involvement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to actively respond to the requests of client families and their guests.
• Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and exercise good judgment.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs client families and their guests to the correct chapel for services.
• Directs visitors to the guest book and distributes memorialization materials as needed.
• Answers questions and assists with serving the needs of client families and their guests during visitation and memorialization events.
• Receives and places flowers in chapels.
• Ensures refreshments are available to client families and their guests.
• Maintains cleanliness in public spaces such as lobby, chapels, restrooms, and reception areas before and after scheduled services.
• Oversees the parking area and arranges family and ceremonial vehicles for formal processions.
• Assists with directing and transporting families and service attendees to and from service locations outside of the funeral home.
• Acts as an ambassador of the business in the community to build trust and loyalty.
• Maintains a professional personal appearance and demeanor while performing duties.
