About the position

The Funeral Arranger is responsible for coordinating and directing funeral services, providing support to families during their time of loss, and ensuring that all aspects of the funeral process are handled with care and respect. This role requires a compassionate individual who can manage various tasks related to funeral services while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Arranges, conducts, and directs bereavement rites, including funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional manner.
  • Confirms authorization to proceed with service arrangements.
  • Informs client families of special recognition/services available for veterans and ensures delivery of selected services.
  • Assists with funeral services by coordinating parking, ushering, driving funeral vehicles, and delivering personal keepsakes.
  • Provides aftercare in the absence of Family Service Counselor, including delivery of documentation and information on insurance and benefits.
  • Shares potential pre-need referrals with Family Service Counselors.
  • Ensures adherence to all applicable licensing authorities, rules, and regulations.
  • Prepares and accurately completes documents and online entries related to services and cremations.
  • Assists with general office duties, including answering phones and preparing reports.
  • Maintains vehicles, the facility, and property, and ensures refreshments are available.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience as a Funeral Assistant.
  • Current state/province issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of religious and fraternal organizations customs.
  • Knowledge of computers and some software including MS Office Suite required.
  • High level of compassion and integrity.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Detail-oriented.
