About the position
The Funeral Arranger position at a well-known company in the cremation services industry involves providing compassionate support to families during their time of loss. The role includes facilitating arrangements for funerals and cremations, ensuring that all needs are met with empathy and professionalism. The Funeral Arranger will be responsible for coordinating services, discussing available options, and guiding families through the process while adhering to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Receives or initiates calls to deceased next of kin and confirms contact information.
- Schedules Arrangement appointments and sends confirmation emails.
- Performs removals or transfers of the deceased as needed.
- Cares for the deceased respectfully and updates removal status in proprietary software.
- Greets next of kin and escorts them to the meeting space for arrangements.
- Initiates and facilitates the Arrangements Conference, assessing needs and summarizing desired outcomes.
- Discusses available life insurance and benefits, including Veteran services.
- Promotes funeral, cemetery, and crematory services and merchandise.
- Transitions the Arrangement Conference to Funeral Services Counselor/Advisor for further discussions on options and pricing.
- Confirms authorization to proceed with service arrangements and presides as Master of Ceremonies for services.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-4 years of direct experience in the cremation or funeral services industry.
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science is a plus.
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
