About the position
The Funeral Director/Embalmer at Foundation Partners Group is responsible for managing all phases of funeral arrangements, ensuring that client families receive comprehensive service options and personalized care. This role involves overseeing team members, maintaining client files, and participating in community outreach to enhance market share. The position requires a compassionate approach to service, with a focus on quality and compliance with legal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of funeral arrangements from setup to final disposition.
- Ensure every client family is presented with all service and merchandise options.
- Maintain open and effective communication and accurate client files.
- Participate in community events to improve market share.
- Oversee team members during services, ensuring professional representation.
- Communicate performance feedback to team members.
- Work on-call/first call in rotation as assigned.
- Transfer decedents and prepare them according to family instructions.
- Meet with client families to arrange personalized funeral services.
- Complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
- Conduct and attend funeral services regularly.
- Lead post-service follow-ups as needed.
Requirements
- Current state licensure for funeral directing & embalming.
- Self-motivated and energetic.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Caring and empathetic with a commitment to customer service.
- Sensitivity to different philosophical systems and religions.
- Knowledge of cultural customs and their impact on human culture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid state-issued driver's license with a clear driving record.
