About the position

The Funeral Home Location Manager/Funeral Director at Smith Family Funeral Homes is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Little Rock location, ensuring exceptional service to families during their most difficult times. This role requires a compassionate leader with a valid Arkansas Funeral Home Director's license and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and compliance with state laws.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the funeral home.
  • Ensure exceptional service for families served.
  • Direct all activities relating to funeral services, including preparation of facilities and supervision of funeral directors.
  • Plan and implement strategies to increase the client base, including marketing opportunities.
  • Coordinate with governmental agencies and service organizations for seamless life celebrations.
  • Administer work schedules of funeral home personnel and oversee service schedules.
  • Monitor funeral service operations for compliance with policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Maintain financial records, order merchandise, and prepare accounts.
  • Train, monitor, and supervise funeral home staff, managing performance-related matters.
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings and maintain high communication levels with employees.

Requirements

  • Valid Arkansas Funeral Home Director's license.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of state laws governing Arkansas funeral homes.
  • Completion of 6 hours of CEUs/year.
  • Excellent driving skills and record.
  • Proficient with computers and technology, particularly MS Office tools.
  • Ability to tolerate stress and work long, irregular hours.
