About the position

As a Furnace Operator at Solar Atmospheres in Chesterfield, MI, you will play a crucial role in the vacuum heat treating and brazing services for various industries, including aerospace and medical devices. This position requires working the Weekend Night Shift, where you will independently manage multiple projects, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to safety standards. Extensive training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced and new candidates who are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Planning and changing out furnace loads and packing all orders
• Operating furnaces and other shop equipment
• Maintaining clean and orderly work areas
• Following project instructions and completing all customer labeling and packaging requirements
• Configuring and monitoring settings on programs, recorders, and vacuum gauges
• Working efficiently while ensuring company quality standards are maintained
• Utilizing a forklift and overhead crane as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic math skills
• Reliable and organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods of time
• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or heat treatment is a plus
• Forklift and Overhead Crane experience/licensure is a plus
