About the position

American Furniture Rentals Inc is seeking a full-time Driver/Furniture Mover to join their team in Huntington Beach, CA. The role involves operating a 26' box truck for the delivery, installation, and pickup of furniture, ensuring exceptional service and adherence to safety regulations. The position requires a clean driving record, the ability to pass a DOT physical test, and a commitment to maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles in a professional and courteous manner while observing all safety rules according to DOT traffic laws and regulations.
• Perform daily maintenance checks (DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections) on company vehicles and report any malfunctions to management.
• Deliver, install, and pick up merchandise from warehouses, vendors, and customers in a timely manner with attention to detail.
• Fill delivery orders by obtaining the required merchandise and completing appropriate paperwork.
• Protect all products and items using materials such as furniture pads and coverups provided by AFR.
• Read, comprehend, and complete all paperwork associated with deliveries to ensure accuracy according to customer invoices.
• Maintain the tool kit provided by AFR in good condition and notify management if replacements are needed.
• Confirm with clients that all items delivered are in good condition and ensure they sign the delivery document.
• Inspect facilities for any damage prior to installation or pickup and notify management of any issues.
• Assist in maintaining a neat and clean workplace and stock the shipping and receiving department as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License with no points or violations in the past twelve months.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of experience in a similar industry, with warehousing and inventory knowledge.
• Ability to operate a 26' box truck.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical test, including pre-employment drug testing.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written.
• Experience in customer service and problem-solving.
