About the position

The FUSE Executive Fellow will play a crucial role in advancing Albuquerque's goal of developing 5,000 affordable housing units by 2027. This position involves creating a program to finance Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), developing a housing plan for the International District, and establishing a recurring affordable housing trust fund. The fellow will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that low-income residents have access to affordable and dignified housing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a program to finance Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).
  • Create a housing plan for the International District.
  • Establish an annually recurring affordable housing trust fund for the City.
  • Conduct a Stakeholder Listening Tour to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Research best practices for equitable housing development in similar communities.
  • Design and secure funding for a program that empowers homeowners to build ADUs.
  • Facilitate activities funded by the Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant.
  • Prepare the team to apply for a Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant.
  • Identify and secure funding for an affordable housing trust that provides predictable, recurring funds.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of professional experience in project management or related fields.
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational project management plans.
  • Proven track record of generating innovative, data-driven solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong active listening abilities.
  • Ability to foster collaboration across multiple constituencies for effective decision-making.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in affordable housing development or urban planning.
  • Familiarity with local government processes and community engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of funding mechanisms for affordable housing initiatives.
