About the position

The Future Operations Specialist serves as a Special Technical Advisor (STA) for Futures in the Campaign, Integration, Assessment, and Futures Office within the NORAD and USNORTHCOM J7 Training, Exercises, and Wargaming Directorate. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the Futures portfolio, ensuring effective integration within the Campaign and related enterprises, while conducting strategic assessments and representing the office in various meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Special Technical Advisor (STA) to the Chief of the Campaign, Integration, Assessments, and Futures Office.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee activities related to the Futures portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within NORAD and USNORTHCOM.
  • Conduct strategic assessments of policies, processes, and procedures development.
  • Represent the N&NC J7 CIAF Office in meetings, conferences, and symposia.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree and Master's degree are highly desired but not required.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
  • Knowledge of DOD training, education, and wargame planning processes.
  • Ability to analyze national, interagency, DOD, and Joint Staff publications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with multiple national and DOD documents is essential.
