About the position

The Student Affairs Operations Student Coordinator position is a work-study role designed specifically for current Pacific University students. This position plays a vital role in the Student Affairs Operations department, which encompasses various areas including Pacific Dining, Conferences & Events, Short-Term Housing, Bookstore, University Center, and Auxiliary budgets. The coordinator will assist the team in achieving departmental goals while providing support to students, external guests, and the broader Pacific community. The role requires flexibility in hours, as it may involve set weekly office hours along with evening and weekend availability based on the event schedule. Candidates must demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and resourcefulness, with training provided for all job responsibilities. The compensation for this position is $15.95 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with various administrative tasks such as data entry, managing inventory, and communicating with customers (internal and external).
  • Utilize Team Dynamix (the service portal) for inquiries and relaying information to customers.
  • Use processing programs such as Excel, Word, and Google spreadsheets to build and maintain necessary documents.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments within the University.
  • Provide on-the-ground support during events, including setup, audio-visual needs, guest support, and cleanup of events.
  • Act as an on-site resource during events.
  • Assist with the management of room scheduling.
  • Provide campus tours to external conference guests as needed.
  • Prepare rooms for guests affiliated with Pacific looking to stay in Clark Hall, which may include laundering linens and towels.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Candidates should be reliable, punctual, and resourceful.
  • Strong communication skills are desired.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Google spreadsheets, is required.
  • Organizational skills are essential.
