About the position

The Teacher of Spanish at Rockville High School is responsible for planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students under the direction of the school principal. This role is crucial in creating an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students, ensuring success for every individual. The teacher will supervise students in various school-related settings, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, and maintain effective communication with students, parents, staff, and the community. In addition to delivering instruction, the teacher will develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students. This includes maintaining appropriate records and following required procedures and practices. The teacher will also be responsible for monitoring the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. The position requires a strong understanding of the MCPS curriculum, effective instructional practices, and the ability to integrate technology into the curriculum. The teacher must be able to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education, working effectively with a variety of stakeholders including administrators, colleagues, and the community.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Meets Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
• Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum and effective instructional practices.
• Understanding of the teaching/learning process.
• Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education.
• Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

• Industry licensures and/or industry certification preferred.
