About the position

The FY26 Special Education Teacher Resource position is designed for a certified teacher who will provide an environment that enables each child to reach their fullest potential across various dimensions including physical, emotional, educational, psychological, and behavioral. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering instruction tailored to the needs of students, supervising paraprofessionals and volunteers, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge in subject area and curriculum development.
  • Communicates effectively with students and promotes mutual respect.
  • Submits weekly lesson plans reflecting goals, objectives, and activities.
  • Assesses students' skill levels to determine appropriate learning objectives.
  • Provides instruction at students' skill levels and teaches necessary objectives in a logical sequence.
  • Uses effective classroom management techniques and communicates expectations for appropriate behavior.
  • Acts in a professional manner and engages in professional development.
  • Maintains appropriate and adequate information as per federal, state, and district policies.

Requirements

  • Appropriate certification and highly qualified requirements.
  • Documentation of a negative Mantoux skin test or other tuberculosis-screening test administered within 12 months before the starting date of employment.
  • A Food Handler's Card authorized through the Arizona Department of Health prior to the starting date of employment.
