About the position

The Outside Sales / Business Development Specialist at Lancaster Painting is responsible for expanding the company's market presence by prospecting new customers and nurturing relationships within the community. This role involves selling residential services to homeowners and property managers, providing excellent customer service, and achieving sales goals through networking and community involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Actively seek new leads and build relationships through community involvement (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club).
  • Provide personalized consultations, create accurate estimates, and follow up on leads to close deals.
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships while developing new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with project leaders to ensure successful project handoffs and execution.
  • Regularly report on sales activity and ensure sales goals are met, addressing shortfalls with actionable plans.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of outside sales experience.
  • Strong community involvement, with a history of networking through local organizations (e.g., Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club).
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Computer experience, especially with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Mail, Google Calendars, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry knowledge or a college degree is a plus!
  • Experience in home improvement, painting, or related industries.
