About the position

The Interior Designer at Gabberts is responsible for planning and designing residential, commercial, and leisure spaces for clients. This role emphasizes building strong client relationships through effective communication and follow-through, while also focusing on professional development and staying current with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design residential, commercial, and leisure spaces for clients.
• Analyze client requirements and advise on interior design factors such as floor planning, color palettes, and room cohesion.
• Build strong client relationships through effective communication and follow-through.
• Prepare sketches and presentations for clients.
• Facilitate home visits for clients when necessary.
• Continue professional development by utilizing resources and joining professional associations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Interior Design or related field.
• Minimum of five years of direct sales experience in full service interior design.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Light cleaning duties including wiping down surfaces, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift furniture and accessories up to 50 pounds.
