Gallery Host (Front Desk)

About the position

The Gallery Host/Front Desk position at Hyatt Place New Orleans/Convention Center is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional guest service. The individual will be responsible for greeting guests, managing check-in and check-out processes, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in the gallery area. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and involves various responsibilities related to food and beverage service, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.

Responsibilities

• Check-in and check-out hotel guests
• Process all payments according to established hotel requirements
• Provide information and assistance to all guests and vendors
• Prepare necessary reports during each shift for the management team
• Follow financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables
• Prepare, set up, stock, take down, clean, and provide quality beverages and food products
• Ensure gallery remains well-stocked at all times
• Receive food and beverage orders as needed
• Prepare and plate all food items on the menu
• Clean and sanitize countertops and floors after each shift
• Validate customers' IDs and monitor all beverage consumption to avoid severe intoxication

Requirements

• Ability to use hot food preparation machines such as oven, stove, and microwave
• Basic knowledge of how to operate all Food and Beverage equipment
• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
• Effective problem-solving skills in the workplace
• Ability to work well in stressful situations
• Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
