About the position

The Game DevTech Engineer at Intel is responsible for developing and optimizing technologies on Intel's GPUs and CPUs, collaborating with game developers to enhance gaming experiences on Intel platforms. This role involves creating innovative solutions, debugging issues, and producing documentation to illustrate best practices, all while being part of a diverse and inclusive team dedicated to advancing game technology.

Responsibilities

  • Work with third party game developers to optimize their games on Intel platforms.
  • Implement new features and address functional issues on integrated and discrete GPUs and CPUs.
  • Develop sample code, documentation, presentations, and other materials to illustrate best practices on Intel platforms.
  • Collaborate with graphics driver, compiler, and performance engineers to debug issues and achieve optimal results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM degree.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience in performance profiling and optimization on the GPU and/or CPU.
  • Proficiency in DirectX 12 and/or Vulkan.
  • Experience writing and/or optimizing shaders or graphics techniques.
  • Background as a game developer, graphics programmer, or in a closely related position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with modern processor architecture, including CPU, GPU, and memory sub-systems.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows architecture and its impact on performance.
  • Experience with multi-threading.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with ISPC, SIMD assembly, vectorization, and optimization.
  • Direct customer interaction experience.
  • Familiarity with Intel tools such as Graphics Performance Analyzer (GPA) or VTune.
  • Experience using graphics tools such as Renderdoc or PIX.
