About the position

Stardock is seeking a talented Game Developer to join our team in Plymouth, Michigan. This full-time position is perfect for an avid gamer who is passionate about creating engaging gameplay systems in cutting-edge games. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C++ and a proven track record of game development, particularly in strategy games. As a Game Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining gameplay systems, writing technical documentation, and collaborating closely with production and QA teams to address any bugs that arise during development. This role requires a self-motivated individual who loves solving problems and is eager to contribute to the creation of innovative gaming experiences. In this position, you will work with modern C++ to create data-driven systems that allow for quick gameplay iteration. Your expertise in various areas such as UI/UX, AI, physics, data management, graphics, gameplay, audio, and parallel and distributed systems will be crucial in delivering high-quality gameplay experiences. You will also be expected to have experience with HLSL/GLSL shaders and pipelines, as well as a familiarity with version control software like Perforce and SVN. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in game development
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or relevant field
  • Strong C++ background
  • Passion for games and game design
  • Self-motivated and loves solving problems
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: UI/UX, AI, physics, data management, graphics, gameplay, audio, parallel and distributed systems, HLSL/GLSL shaders, pipelines, terrain
  • Able to learn new technology quickly and execute on a schedule in a fast-paced cross-discipline team environment
  • Multiple shipped titles or mods
  • Experienced with version control software (e.g. Perforce, SVN, etc.)
