The Gaming Community Manager at the USO is a pivotal role responsible for the development and execution of community engagement and growth strategies within the gaming sector. This position is designed to enhance the USO's mission by fostering a vibrant gaming community that supports service members and their families. The Gaming Community Manager will oversee volunteers who assist with gaming programs and services, ensuring that all initiatives align with the organization's goals and values. In this role, the manager will build and execute community strategies aimed at driving growth and retention through various deliverables, including Game Ambassadors, social media content, and active gaming programs. The manager will also develop and execute key community initiatives such as community events, contests, promotions, and activation partnerships. A significant part of the job involves organizing and managing virtual community hubs utilized by USO Gaming, including platforms like Discord, Twitch, and Twitter. The Gaming Community Manager will be responsible for managing content calendars and milestones, ensuring consistent communication with cross-functional and regional teams. They will develop a content strategy that drives storytelling with both internal and external stakeholders, creating compelling product communications such as blogs and community updates. Additionally, the manager will onboard, train, and coordinate USO Gaming Volunteers to support community engagements, while also researching and developing new opportunities to engage with the core audience. Performance analysis is a critical aspect of this role, as the manager will analyze and report on content and program performance data, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation of gaming initiatives. The manager will ensure the proper execution of corporate partnership levels across all managed online platforms and provide stewardship reports upon completion of events to the Director of Global Gaming Operations. The role may also involve supporting gaming initiatives within Non-Aligned Regions and USO Afloat as assigned, along with other duties as needed.
