About the position

The Gas and Steam Turbine and Generator Accessories Instrumentation Design Engineer will utilize their engineering expertise to create design packages for the upgrade or retrofit of gas and steam turbines and generator accessories. This role focuses on integrating electrical and instrumentation systems with GE control hardware, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative designs that enhance system performance and meet customer requirements. The engineer will execute projects of varying complexity, provide outage support, and manage engineering requests and non-conformance reports for post-COD units, all while emphasizing safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Own & execute tasks from various workstreams such as PLM OTR work, SDRs, ERs, NCRs related to services design engineering.
  • Develop innovative engineering solutions for Gas/Steam/Generator accessory systems that meet customer CTQs and GE Vernova's design guidelines.
  • Create detailed instrumentation schematics, wiring, and conduit arrangement drawings/BOM for proposed upgrades or modifications.
  • Interpret project scope and develop wiring, loop, instrumentation, and schematic diagrams to enhance system performance.
  • Support standardization and cost-out efforts to improve GE Vernova's product and service competitiveness.
  • Address field issues as required and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and deliverables.
  • Interact effectively with GE Vernova customers, suppliers, and internal functions such as sourcing, drafting, systems engineering, and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience with a strong understanding of electrical systems, automation technologies, and control systems.
  • Practical knowledge in relevant software tools.
  • Proven teamwork abilities.
