About the position

The Gas Operations Compliance Coordinator (GOCC) plays a crucial role in supporting the Gas Operations Compliance department by coordinating compliance-driven schedules for inspection and maintenance work on high-pressure gas lines. This position ensures adherence to strict inspection timelines mandated by the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) to prevent gas leaks and maintain safety compliance. The GOCC will also assist in emergency response efforts, making this role vital for the safety and efficiency of gas operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support 3-4 Supervisors by managing tasks, prioritizing work, and ensuring clear communication of priorities.
  • Export data from SAP related to inspections and maintenance into Excel, handling datasets of 500-5,000 records.
  • Use Excel tools (filter, sort, simple formulas) to organize and analyze data, drawing key insights.
  • Change data formats and adjust fonts, cell borders, and cell color for readability.
  • Ensure data integrity while formatting and preparing for updates.
  • Review and validate data with IT before updating permanent records in SAP.
  • Ensure all work is planned and scheduled according to CPUC regulations and deadlines.
  • Use analytical and critical thinking skills to account for various factors when planning future inspections and maintenance schedules.
  • Distribute work across various locations to prevent field crews from becoming overloaded during emergencies.
  • Create work orders during emergency events and dispatch the nearest available emergency response teams.
  • Coordinate schedules for compliance, emergency, and construction work.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Scheduling & Dispatching, Project Management/Coordination, or Data Entry with high accuracy.
  • Experience supporting compliance-driven work relating to regulatory schedules or deadlines.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including data export, management, and analysis.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Time management skills to work within deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Problem-solving abilities to manage unexpected issues proactively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Excel skills including creating charts and PivotTables.
  • Experience with VLOOKUP or HLOOKUP functions.
  • SAP experience.
