About the position
The Gas Station Attendant & C-Store Cashier role at South Shore 76 in Lake Oswego, OR, is a dynamic position that combines customer service responsibilities both indoors and outdoors. The role involves operating a point-of-sale system, managing inventory, providing full-service gas pumping, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for customers. This position is ideal for individuals looking for flexible weekend shifts with opportunities for both part-time and full-time work.
Responsibilities
- Operate point-of-sale system and process transactions accurately
- Manage inventory and stock shelves
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization
- Handle food service tasks as needed
- Monitor and replenish store supplies
- Assist customers with questions and purchases
- Provide full-service gas pumping for customers
- Process fuel transactions and handle payments
- Maintain cleanliness of the forecourt area
- Monitor fuel levels and report any issues
- Assist with windshield cleaning and other customer services
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
Requirements
- Ability to work either the morning weekend shift (Saturday & Sunday 9 AM - 3 PM) or evening shift (Saturday & Sunday 3 PM - 9 PM)
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts if interested in additional hours
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
- Strong multitasking abilities to handle both indoor and outdoor responsibilities
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and making accurate change
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in convenience store operations or gas station attendance
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling
- Food handler's certification
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected situations calmly
