About the position

The Gas Station Attendant/Food Service role in Murrieta, CA, is a customer-facing position focused on providing excellent service at a gas station. Attendants will engage with customers, assist with transactions, maintain cleanliness, and promote additional products to enhance the customer experience. This role requires individuals to be on their feet for most of the shift and offers opportunities for performance-based pay raises.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them inside the store and at the fuel pumps.
• Operate the cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions.
• Stock shelves and maintain inventory levels, ensuring products are well-displayed and organized.
• Upsell additional products, such as snacks, beverages, and car care items, to enhance the customer experience.
• Inform customers about promotions or new items.
• Maintain cleanliness of the gas station, including fueling areas, convenience store, and restroom facilities.
• Handle customer inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
• Operate or learn to operate a fryer for fried foods, practicing safe handling and limiting waste.
• Engage with co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Strong basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
• Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor towards customers and team members.
• A proactive attitude towards upselling products and enhancing customer satisfaction.
