About the position

The Fresno VA is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive medical services to veterans, including consultative care and advanced GI procedures. The role involves patient care, education of medical trainees, and participation in research activities, with a focus on gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases. The position also includes a faculty appointment at UCSF, Fresno, enhancing the educational aspect of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical services for outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home patients.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases.
• Perform GI procedures including EGD, colonoscopies, and advanced procedures.
• Oversee the administration of conscious sedation during GI procedures.
• Participate in the education and training of residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Engage in research and educational activities within the fellowship program.
• Participate in ground rounds and lectures.

Requirements

• Board certification in Gastroenterology.
• Full and unrestricted medical license from any US State or territory.
• Experience in performing advanced GI procedures.
• Ability to teach and mentor medical trainees.

• Fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
