About the position

Valley Health is actively seeking a Medical Director and three Gastroenterology (GI) Staff Physicians to join our expanding team at Winchester Medical Center, located in Winchester, Virginia. This is a unique opportunity for skilled Gastroenterologists to become part of a hospital-employed team within a $1 billion healthcare system that serves over 500,000 residents across the Northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, and Western Maryland. The ideal candidates will possess strong clinical and surgical skills and will thrive in an innovative and collaborative environment as we expand our GI program. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in the field of gastroenterology.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as required.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans.
  • Participate in the development and expansion of the GI program.
  • Engage in community outreach and education regarding gastrointestinal health.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and medical trainees.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology.
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology or eligibility for certification.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills in gastroenterology procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Interest in academic medicine and teaching.
