About the position
The position is for a qualified Gastroenterology MD to work in Eureka, California, on a locum tenens basis. The role involves providing clinical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on adult patient demographics. The coverage is needed from November 1, 2024, and ongoing, with specific shift schedules and call responsibilities outlined.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform various gastroenterological procedures including upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP.
- Manage patient care with a focus on adults, handling a patient volume of 6-9 in inpatient and 12-16 in outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with support staff including nurse practitioners and medical assistants.
- Respond to call duties as per the schedule, with a call ratio of 1:4.
Requirements
- Active California Medical License
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- California Fluoroscopy License
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with ERCP procedures is highly preferred.
