About the position
The position is for a qualified Gastroenterology MD to provide locum tenens coverage in Yakima, Washington. The role involves outpatient services, focusing on complicated liver and GI cases, and includes standard clinic responsibilities such as pathology review and patient referrals. The coverage is needed from January 6, 2025, and is expected to continue on an ongoing basis, with a patient volume of 14-16 per day.
Responsibilities
- See complicated liver and GI cases in addition to new referrals.
- Perform all standard clinic responsibilities including pathology review, referrals, and answering questions from the PA.
- Conduct required procedures such as Pill Cam interpretation, peg tube exchange, Hemoccult tests, and Lidocaine injections.
- Perform Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery vs. laser fulguration, and variceal injections.
- Conduct Flexible and Rigid Sigmoidoscopy and Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision.
Requirements
- Active WA License or IMLC
- Board Certified (BC)
- BLS and ACLS certification
