About the position

Gate Guards are responsible for providing a positive and timely service to all incoming and outgoing customers who are using the Yard. Gate Guards are responsible for the security of the gate entrance. This position requires a commitment to ensuring a smooth traffic flow in and out of the gate area while delivering efficient and accurate customer service. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the security of the facility and protecting both people and property. In this role, you will verify customers' purchases by reviewing their receipts and outside loading slips, directing them to the appropriate location for loading their merchandise. Following standard policies and procedures is essential to help reduce shrink for the company. You will also communicate all incoming customers to Warehouse team members to ensure timely interactions and verify the accuracy of customer loading using an RF unit and physical counts. Additionally, you will inform customers of any potential safety concerns regarding their loads and assist with assembly projects as needed. A positive promotion of Fleet Farm's customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives is also part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide smooth traffic flow in and out of the gate area by providing efficient and accurate customer service.
  • Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property.
  • Verify customer's purchase by reviewing customer's receipt and outside loading slip.
  • Direct customer to the location of merchandise for proper loading.
  • Follow all standard policies and procedures to help reduce shrink for the company.
  • Communicate all incoming customers to Warehouse team members for timely customer interactions.
  • Verify accuracy of customer loading utilizing RF unit outside loading application as well as a physical count.
  • Efficiently communicate with Customer Service Department and hold all outside loading slips for customer loads that were not completely loaded.
  • Inform customers of potential safety concerns regarding their load.
  • Assist with assembly projects, as needed.
  • Positive promotion of Fleet Farm customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous retail experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn and operate a RF Unit, tablet, or other technology.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
