About the position

The Gate Guard position at O'Hare International Airport involves monitoring construction gates and ensuring the security of the premises. As a Gate Guard, you will be responsible for verifying credentials of trucks and vehicles entering the site, preventing unauthorized access, and detecting any suspicious activities. Your role is crucial in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both clients and employees. You will respond promptly to alarms and incidents, taking appropriate action as necessary, and provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and addressing their inquiries or concerns. Enforcing company policies and procedures is essential to your duties, and you will collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary. Additionally, you will be required to complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of all activities during your shift. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with proven experience in security or a related field. Strong observation and communication skills are vital, as is the ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. You will be expected to patrol the area and respond quickly if needed. To qualify for this role, you must possess a valid PERC card, a 20-hour security training certificate, and an active State ID or Driver's License along with a Social Security Card or Birth Certificate.
