About the position

The Associate Banker position within the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Group at Goldman Sachs in New York is a critical role focused on leading equity capital market transactions for various clients, including financial sponsors and corporate entities. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex financial challenges and transactions, contributing to the origination, structuring, and execution of equity financings such as IPOs and follow-on offerings. The role requires strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to manage projects effectively while mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and lead equity capital market transactions for financial sponsor, venture capital, and corporate clients.
  • Develop content for client meetings regarding strategy and potential M&A or capital market transactions.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives.
  • Complete and review analytical work of junior team members and provide mentorship and oversight.
  • Perform investor targeting of potential institutional buyers and analyze comparable companies.
  • Manage the entire transaction process for mission-critical equity financings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years' relevant work experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical orientation with experience in financial and valuation analysis using Excel or comparable tools.
