About the position

The GC Pro Account Manager is responsible for cultivating new business development opportunities and building upon existing business relationships by promoting professional-level audio, video, and lighting products and services to meet client needs. This role involves significant fieldwork, with Account Managers expected to spend approximately 50% or more of their time generating new clients and nurturing existing ones. The position requires achieving sales targets, creating effective business plans, and engaging in continual learning of new products and services. Additionally, the Account Manager will partner with various divisions within the Guitar Center Company to best meet client needs and will be responsible for detailed reporting of activities.

Responsibilities

  • Creating sales, orders, and contracts for services.
  • Spending approximately 50% or more of time in the field generating new clients and nurturing existing clients.
  • Achieving sales targets and demonstrating the ability to create steady growth within a specific area or region.
  • Creating effective business plans for generating new sales leads and following up on self-generated leads.
  • Engaging in business development activities such as client site visits, cold calling, and internet outreach.
  • Continually learning about new products and services to represent the company effectively.
  • Proactively understanding client needs and identifying solutions and business opportunities.
  • Partnering with AVDG, Guitar Center retail locations, Support Center, Distribution Centers, and Contact Centers to meet client needs.
  • Creating detailed reports of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience selling AV integration products/services with a demonstrated ability to achieve specific sales targets.
  • 3 years of experience in a business-to-business and/or outside sales environment, preferably in the Audio, Visual, and Lighting arena.
  • Skilled acumen for business-to-business sales practices.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business applications.
  • Self-motivated with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and associates.
  • Good decision-making and negotiation skills.
  • Competitive, high achiever with a drive for personal and professional success.
