About the position

The Operations Manager at Guitar Center is responsible for leading the team to ensure effective merchandise management, including receiving, stocking, and merchandising products according to established standards. This role emphasizes creating a culture of integrity, inclusion, and musical passion while achieving sales and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Store Manager and management team to achieve EBITDA, sales, and margin goals
  • Ensure proper staffing levels within the department, including hiring and training operations associates
  • Assist in training all levels of operations associates
  • Manage shipping and receiving of gear and other store-related items
  • Organize the warehouse and maintain the facility
  • Oversee loss prevention, safety, inventory management, cash management, and business reporting
  • Conduct weekly signage/pricing audits to ensure merchandising standards are met
  • Drive sales by acting as manager in charge when necessary
  • Open and close the store
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in retail or warehouse setting
  • Valid state driver's license and automotive insurance
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work in a loud environment for 5-8 hours
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
