About the position

The Operations Manager at Guitar Center is responsible for leading the team to ensure effective merchandise management, including receiving, stocking, and merchandising products according to company standards. This role emphasizes creating an inclusive environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction while fostering a culture of integrity and musical passion among staff. The Operations Manager collaborates with the Store Manager to achieve financial goals and oversees various operational tasks, including staffing, training, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager and management team to achieve EBITDA, sales, and margin goals.
• Ensure proper staffing levels within the department, including hiring and training operations associates.
• Assist in training all levels of operations associates.
• Manage shipping and receiving of gear and other store-related items.
• Organize the warehouse and maintain the facility.
• Oversee loss prevention, safety, inventory management, cash management, and business reporting.
• Conduct weekly standardized signage/pricing audits to ensure compliance with planogram standards.
• Drive sales by acting as the manager in charge when necessary.
• Open and close the store as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant work experience in retail or warehouse setting.
• Valid state driver's license and automotive insurance.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work in a loud environment for 5-8 hours.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
