About the position

The Technical Program Director (TPD) at Celestica is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the technical aspects of high-level opportunities and projects within the Service Provider business unit. This position plays a crucial role in driving growth and shaping the future of the Connectivity and Cloud Solutions segment by supporting and developing high-impact programs related to IT infrastructure and hyperscale datacenter customers. The TPD collaborates with various teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project execution, while also establishing long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical aspects of high-level opportunities and projects for the Service Provider business unit.
  • Support, develop, and help manage high-impact programs related to IT infrastructure and hyperscale datacenter customers.
  • Interact regularly with executives at major customers, including presentations and negotiations.
  • Develop strategies, policies, and methods to analyze and interpret complex problems.
  • Establish long-term strategic technical relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
  • Remove technical hurdles to successfully close opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new products and services for customers.
  • Coordinate major product launch or site transfer activities with various teams and customers.
  • Monitor internal plans to meet commitments and schedules for customers.
  • Act as a customer advocate to drive project prioritization and problem resolution.
  • Participate in pricing and contract development from a technical standpoint.
  • Analyze technical program development processes and implement improvement plans as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10-15 years of technology-related engineering, marketing, and business development experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, schedules, and supply chain issues.
  • Understanding of business risks and pricing structures for CM/ODM business.
  • Excellent customer contact, negotiation, and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple detailed projects under tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the communication and datacenter business.
  • Working knowledge of product pricing, contracts, and negotiations for the CM/ODM business.
  • Good presentation and database management skills.
