As a GCP Cloud Engineer at Ford Motor Company, you will be a key member of our Enterprise Technology Group, playing a critical role in shaping the future of mobility. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance and simplify Ford's complex global infrastructure environment, which spans Google Cloud Platform (GCP), on-premises data centers, and distributed locations across major regions. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape, improve customer experiences, and positively impact people's lives. You will be tasked with providing day-to-day management of key cloud-native infrastructure, computing, database, network, storage, and interoperability initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate with Technology and Software Platform teams to deliver solutions for cloud infrastructure across the Ford Enterprise, focusing on hosting, computing, databases, and networks. You will define, analyze, assemble, and integrate components to create infrastructure patterns that meet business needs, ensuring considerations for platforms, software, availability, scalability, and reliability. Your expertise will be essential in designing, building, and maintaining GCP infrastructure to support our applications and services, while also integrating GCP services into our overall IT architecture. Staying current with GCP technologies and best practices will be crucial as you provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Additionally, you will develop, advise, and document GCP infrastructure and deployment processes, utilizing your experience with REST API, Agile tools, DevOps, and version control tools like Git and JIRA. You will design and develop high-performance, scalable, and secure cloud-native applications on GCP, working closely with development teams to implement best practices for deploying and managing applications. Monitoring and optimizing the performance of GCP resources will be part of your responsibilities, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues related to GCP infrastructure and services. Your role will also involve supporting the development of technical design and documentation, while maintaining open channels of communication to share relevant information and best practices.
