About the position

The GCP Cloud Engineer at GLOTECH, Inc. is responsible for implementing, operating, and supporting Google Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps initiatives. This role involves collaborating with team members and stakeholders to design and implement infrastructure solutions, providing operational support, ensuring the stability of cloud services, and assisting with disaster recovery planning. The position also includes mentoring other team members and maintaining relationships with vendors and service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructures as a service.
  • Work with team members and stakeholders to design and implement infrastructure solutions to support cloud initiatives.
  • Assist development teams with build and deployment operations.
  • Provide operational support to service provider network handoffs and cloud interconnections.
  • Ensure stability of cloud services through monitoring, maintenance, diagnostics, and backup of cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with Information Security to monitor and implement security controls.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and exercises.
  • Interact and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers to explore solutions and best practices.
  • Support daily operations of Hyper V Clusters.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for the infrastructure team.
  • Create Ansible playbooks to build core infrastructure.
  • Act as a mentor to others and help build their knowledge of cloud technologies.
  • Perform UNIX/Linux administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience working with cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on knowledge for migrating OS workloads to AWS/Azure.
  • Experience with GCP services, Linux (RHEL), and networking concepts and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Elastic, HTML, or Jenkins.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certificates, licenses, registrations in relevant fields (desired but not required).
