About the position

As a GCP Engineer, you will lead complex technology cloud initiatives that have a broad impact across the company. This role requires you to act as a key contributor in automating the provisioning of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will be responsible for making decisions that develop standards and best practices for engineering and large-scale technology solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, optimizing, and documenting the engineering aspects of the cloud platform. In this position, you will lead and share your understanding of industry best practices, guiding the cloud technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives. You will review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions in the cloud, aligning them with strategic business objectives and addressing technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple parameters, including intangible or unprecedented technical factors. Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely with key technical experts, senior technology teams, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals. You will build and enable cloud infrastructure, automating orchestration for GCP for the client enterprise. Working in a globally distributed team, you will provide innovative and robust cloud-centric solutions. Additionally, you will closely collaborate with product teams and vendors to develop and deploy cloud services that meet customer expectations. Your role will also involve gathering and analyzing data to diagnose the root cause of cloud issues and recommending and implementing timely solutions to resolve these issues.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 14+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 3+ years working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a proven track record of building complex infrastructure programmatically using IaC tools.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with IaC tools Terraform and GitHub.
  • Strong understanding of GCP networking services such as VPC, Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect, and Cloud Load Balancing.
  • Knowledge of cloud service offerings such as Data, Analytics, AI/ML on GCP.
  • Demonstrated experience with at least three key services: Big Query, Composer, Vertex AI, Document AI, Agent Builder, DataProc, Data Catalog, Notebook.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools for network provisioning and configuration.
  • Knowledge of cloud service offerings on Security, Data Protection, and Security policy implementations.
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts like landing zone and Blueprints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cloud certification on GCP.
  • Exposure to cloud governance and logging/monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, and SRE principles.
  • Proficient in container-based solution services, with experience in large-scale Kubernetes infrastructure build-out.
  • Experience in scripting (Shell, Python).
  • Good understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancing concepts, and exposure to database, cloud security, AD, authentication methods, RBAC.
