About the position
Onix is seeking a GCP Data Engineer to support its cloud and Big Data projects, focusing on Data Warehousing and Data Analytics. The role involves developing data-driven solutions using cloud technologies to address business needs, ensuring high performance and scalability. The engineer will also lead the development of testing strategies and collaborate with development teams to deliver effective cloud-based solutions for clients across multiple countries.
Responsibilities
- Drive analysis to understand and meet all technical specifications and business requirements according to established designs.
- Develop Test Strategy, Test Plans, and Test Cases to test cloud-based solutions.
- Analyze issues identified during the testing phase and propose new solutions to resolve them.
- Provide senior-level technical consulting support during the design, development, and testing stages for complex data projects.
- Migrate data from on-prem Big Data platforms to cloud-based platforms like BigQuery and SQL.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Approximately 8+ years of experience with data platforms and Big Data engineering functions.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, preferably with GCP's cloud native SQL (BigQuery).
- Hands-on experience with Python, with Jupyter Notebooks experience as a plus.
- Deep experience working with Google Data Products (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and project leaders to understand requirements and deliverables.
- Experience working in an Agile and collaborative team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
