About the position

The GCP Data Engineer position is designed for a technically proficient individual who will act as a Tech Anchor for a team of Software Engineers. This role involves providing technical leadership, assisting in the conversion of business goals into product requirements, and developing cloud solutions and Hadoop applications. The engineer will work closely with various stakeholders, including business customers and IT teams, to ensure successful project execution and integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design cloud solutions and Hadoop applications.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on product architecture and design.
  • Guide and mentor Software Engineers in solution development.
  • Lead the resolution of technical issues within the team.
  • Participate in the development of requirements, user stories, and test cases.
  • Lead integration projects and oversee the work of system engineers.
  • Discuss project status with executives.
  • Work with IT Operations and other teams for hardware/software provisioning and testing.
  • Assist business customers in migrating from old tools to new platforms.
  • Participate in incident, problem, change, and service request activities, including root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years designing cloud solutions and Hadoop applications.
  • Experience in system integration capabilities.
  • Proficient in programming, installation, and software development.
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, PCF/PKS.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in installing, configuring, monitoring, and tuning infrastructure tools.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience with Python and/or R software development, with Anaconda experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
