About the position

The GCP Security Engineer will join the Strategy and Cloud Governance Team at a large financial enterprise in Phoenix, AZ. This role focuses on enhancing the security of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services by ensuring best practices are implemented and understood. The engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GCP, collaborating with Cloud Engineers and Architects to ensure comprehensive security coverage within the cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Service Certification within GCP.
• Evaluate GCP service offerings to determine applicable security best practices.
• Understand and communicate the deployment and configuration of security resources from a Service Control Policy (SCP) standpoint.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineers and Cloud Architects to ensure GCP security measures are effectively implemented.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud.
• Understanding of cloud offerings and public cloud operations.
• Exposure to the architectural elements of GCP.
• Knowledge of security concepts and domains including network, application, and infrastructure security.
• Deep understanding of the Shared Responsibility model within Public Cloud.
