About the position

The GCP/GKE Architect role is focused on designing and implementing cloud solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). This position requires strong expertise in cloud architecture, container orchestration, and infrastructure management, with a primary goal of optimizing cloud operations and supporting application deployment strategies. The architect will work closely with development teams to ensure efficient use of GCP services and will be responsible for monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud solutions using GCP and GKE.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated code deployment.
• Optimize GCP costs and resource usage, providing cost estimates and reports.
• Collaborate with development teams to architect application deployment strategies.
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions with GCP Logging and Monitoring.
• Automate GCP operations using scripting languages like Python or Bash.
• Set up and administer databases in GCP, such as BigTable and Cloud SQL.
• Manage and orchestrate containers using GKE, including cluster management and deployment strategies.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.

Requirements

• Strong experience with GCP and GKE.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell or Python.
• Experience in configuration management and Infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts including storage, compute, and networking.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and architecture knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of searching logs for troubleshooting and anomaly detection.
• Experience with Git and GitHub, JavaScript, and Regular Expressions (RegEx).
• Familiarity with ETL processes, Cloud Networking, and Machine Learning.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Openshift and Postgres/ql.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Rally.
• Knowledge of API management and Big Data technologies.
• Experience with Kafka and functional testing.
