About the position
The GCP Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading the implementation and management of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services within the organization. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with GCP, strong technical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The position is contract-based and requires the candidate to be onsite in Madison, WI.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and management of GCP services.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure effective communication and documentation practices.
- Provide production support, debugging, and performance tuning for cloud applications.
- Develop and monitor Airflow DAGs for data workflows.
- Utilize Python, SQL, and Terraform for cloud-native solutions and architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
- At least 12+ years of experience in Information Technology.
- 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Python, SQL, Terraform, CI/CD, and Git flows.
- Understanding of cloud-native solutions and architecture.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the Insurance domain.
- Good understanding of data integration, data quality, and data architecture.
- Experience in Relational Modeling, Dimensional Modeling, and Modeling of Unstructured Data.
- Good understanding of Agile software development frameworks.
