About the position

The GCP Platform Engineer will lead complex cloud initiatives and automate the provisioning of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role involves designing and optimizing cloud platforms, collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless integration, and addressing technical challenges to meet strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex technology Cloud initiatives with broad impact.
  • Act as a key contributor in automating the provisioning of Cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Develop standards and best practices for engineering and large-scale technology solutions.
  • Design, optimize, and document the engineering aspects of the Cloud platform.
  • Share understanding of industry best practices and new technologies with the Cloud technology team.
  • Review and analyze complex technology solutions in Cloud for strategic business objectives.
  • Collaborate with key technical experts and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Build and enable Cloud infrastructure, automating orchestration for GCP for Enterprise.
  • Work with Product Team and vendors to develop and deploy Cloud services.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and operations teams for seamless integration of cloud-based systems.
  • Gather and analyze data to diagnose Cloud issues and implement timely solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of GCP networking services such as VPC, Cloud VPN, and Cloud Load Balancing.
  • Knowledge of Cloud service offerings like Data, Analytics, AI/ML on GCP.
  • Experience with at least three key services: Big Query, Composer, Vertex AI, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security, and compliance standards.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools for network provisioning.
  • Knowledge of Cloud service offerings on Security and Data Protection.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud computing concepts like landing zone and Blueprints.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cloud certification on GCP.
  • Exposure to Cloud governance and logging/monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, and SRE principles.
  • Proficient in container-based solutions and Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Experience in scripting (Shell, Python).
  • Good understanding of networking, firewalls, and load balancing concepts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
