About the position
The Business Development Intern at GDIT will play a crucial role in supporting government business development activities, including capture and proposal development. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside professionals in a collaborative environment, conducting market research and assisting with Requests for Proposals (RFPs) while gaining valuable insights into the defense contracting industry.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to support business development efforts.
- Assist with the completion of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and questionnaires.
- Perform business intelligence and competitive intelligence research using government websites and Salesforce.
- Collate and maintain customer information to support business goals.
- Work with stakeholders to understand insights needed for business objectives.
- Participate in professional development and mentoring activities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline from a U.S.-based college or university.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Teams).
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for professional interaction with internal and external personnel.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with business development in the defense contracting industry.
- Broad knowledge of project management and data analytics.
- Experience with Salesforce.
