About the position
The GDOT IT Trainer/Content Developer position involves conducting IT application training classes and developing/updating training materials for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The role requires traveling to various district and area office locations to deliver training to GDOT staff on custom IT applications and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. The candidate will also be responsible for managing training schedules, administering learner enrollments, and collaborating with GDOT business units to enhance training delivery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct IT application training classes both on-site and remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- Develop, update, and maintain IT training content including PowerPoint presentations, user manuals, and training guides.
- Publish training schedules and manage course offerings within the GDOT Learning Management System (Oracle/Workday).
- Administer learner enrollments, testing, and completions, and assign grades or certifications.
- Gather feedback through training surveys to improve training delivery and content.
- Collaborate with GDOT business units to identify training needs and increase class enrollments.
- Facilitate vendor or contractor delivered training as needed.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping for time, activities, and performance indicators.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 4 years of experience in IT technical training with client support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and/or Articulate 360/Storyline.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to travel within the State of Georgia.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Familiarity with Oracle/Workday Learning Management System.
