About the position

The GE Carescape Application Analyst is responsible for the design, build, testing, and support of new applications and modules within the healthcare system. This role involves troubleshooting and providing technical support for clinical workflows, ensuring timely resolution of service requests, and participating in system maintenance and enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows server environments and MS SQL databases, with a focus on healthcare applications.

Responsibilities

  • Respond and address incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Meet department Service Level Agreements (SLA) for ticket resolution and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Research issues and troubleshoot system problems independently, documenting findings and proposing solutions.
  • Provide technical support to clinical groups for critical workflows and business processes.
  • Participate in regular system maintenance activities, including applying application patches and monitoring system alerts.
  • Evaluate and escalate problems impacting business operations to appropriate management or governance groups.
  • Synthesize operational and technical feedback from clinical and business process champions.
  • Complete assigned project deliverables and service requests accurately and on time.
  • Evaluate clinical and business owner needs to provide sustainable workflow solutions.
  • Develop information systems solutions, including application enhancement strategies and detailed test scripts.
  • Review and analyze new functionality in releases/modules and present recommendations to clinical owners.
  • Achieve in-depth knowledge of clinical workflows and serve as a Subject Matter Expert.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in implementation and troubleshooting Windows server and desktop environments, MS SQL Database, or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience with medical devices applications, specifically GE Health Carescape gateway.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and hospital settings is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with information systems technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and other systems.
  • Knowledge of hospital inpatient monitoring workflows with EMR systems.
  • Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple areas in application specialty areas.
  • Knowledge of systems functions including design, development, implementation, user support, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to research, organize, analyze, and synthesize data for decision making.
  • Detail-oriented with strong probing skills to understand system configuration needs.
  • Ability to think logically and learn quickly.
  • Effective team player with strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and recognize problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Philips Capsule MDIP such as SmartLinx and HL7 interfaces is highly preferred.
